Virginia Holden, Chief Executive Officer

Virginia joined GVHS in May 2021. Since joining GVHS, she has increased Society’s portfolio by 30% to address growing housing needs in Greater Victoria. Previously, she spent 15 years working for the BC provincial government in various leadership positions dedicated to housing development and policy, community engagement, and land use planning. During that time, she played key roles in the development of three provincial housing strategies, including HousingMattersBC and Homes for BC: 30 Point Plan. Virginia is a registered professional planner who holds certification with the International Association in Public Participation (IAP2), and a member of the Urban Land Institute. In 2024, Virginia was selected to participate in Community Shift at Ivey Business School with non-profit and public leaders from across Canada. She is also a committed community volunteer having served as a past member of the District of Oak Bay Advisory Planning Commission.
