We are very excited to announce our new partnership with Community Roots Support Services. Through this partnership, CRSS will rent units directly from GVHS.
Community Roots Support Services is a local agency that provides support to Individuals in the Greater Victoria area, including Sooke and Sidney. Community Roots supports Individuals with diverse abilities to achieve independence and community participation, with service delivery that responds to an Individual’s changing circumstances. Experienced, well-trained staff and natural supports will come alongside to help the Individual to overcome challenges and to reach positive personal outcomes which improve their quality of life. Community Roots prides itself on being an active, contributing part of the community. Community Roots works closely with community partners to provide accessibility to programs and resources that support Individuals with diverse abilities to better outcomes and an improved quality of life. By working collaboratively with interagency and interdisciplinary care teams we offer a wide variety of supports to meet each Individual’s unique needs and help them to build a path to reach their set goals.

The Program through Community Roots provides Individuals diagnosed with Autism, Asperger’s, FASD or developmental disability the opportunity to live independently. Individuals have their own affordable, independent apartment suite and will meet with a Community Support Worker for a predetermined amount of time each week with the intention of maintaining the living space, learning the required life skills to succeed in independent housing, and building community connections. Supports include both individual and group activities.
